One Small Act

Years ago, I went to visit a convalescent hospital. The patients there were extremely ill and for most, it was their "last stop." There was a common area and in it was a piano. I lifted up the piano bench and saw a book of old songs. I sat down and started to play and sing them. There were songs like "You Are My Sunshine," "The Sidewalks of New York," "Bicycle Built for Two," and more. Before long, a large crowd had gathered around me and began to sing along. When I finished, a woman in her 50s came up to me in tears. She said, "My mother had a stroke two years ago and has never said a word in all that time. Today she sang with you!" I started to cry, too. You never know how one simple act can make a difference. Don't underestimate what you are capable of. XO Cindy

  1. Want a blessing that had to be for her, to hear her mother threw your singing! They are things, that happen that brings back memories of my mother. I was taking some amish people to do some shopping and on our way back home, they begain to sing! It sound like angels singing. Sing wonderful songs and begain to youdel! I could hardly drive, with tears coming down my face a feeling coming over me. I could hear my mother threw them and youdeling, my mother would sing and youdel and all the memories of when I was young and growing up with my 3 sisters and 4 brothers banging on pots and pans and listening to my mother sing was the most wonder times. They would be evenings where I lived across from amish in the country and would set out and listen to them singing and the children singing along too. It make all them wonderful times come flooding back! I believe that if we take time out to listen very closely, that we can hear our loved ones whisper... I love you.
